ADULT FOSTER CARE
ADULT FOSTER CARE
A safe and comfortable living environment for people with special needs.
Through an intricate process of professional growth and development, Myron and Rona Welty have recruited and hand selected an exceptional team of mental health specialists. We are very proud of our team. We are an extremely diverse group of lifelong students that wake every morning with the goal of learning two and teaching one thing each day. We are a competent group of mental health professionals who pride ourselves in protecting each client's right to enjoy a safe, secure, dignified, and satisfying life. We have a strong community conscience and are excellent neighbors and contributing members of the community.
Our mission is to offer a comprehensive, goal-directed model of active treatment to a wide variety of adults with physical, mental and emotional needs. We offer a safe, comfortable home setting from which we support our clients in their efforts to maintain a high quality life. Our primary mission is to afford our clients a safe, relaxing, therapeutic place to call home. We are an active, goal-orientated family of mental health specialists who truly love our work. We provide meals, medications, and assistance with all facets of our residents' lives. We have weekly visits and 24/7 on-call supervision by an experienced psychiatric registered nurse. We provide 24 hour awake supervision. We provide transportation to all medical appointments and most day programming. We work closely with our clients, their professional treatment case workers, and families in developing individual life goals. Our treatment method follows a simple process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
WHO WE SERVE
WHO WE SERVE
Our clients are people with special needs who require supervision and/or assistance. Our clients must be approved by County Social Services. The predominance of our clients share a serious persistent mental illness that may follow a traumatic brain injury or any number of other causes. We accept all forms of public and private payment. Please contact us for rate information.
The primary responsibility is working directly with vulnerable adults whom posse physical, mental, and or emotional infirmity or dysfunction. In specific our residents suffer from misc. behavioral mental illnesses that impair their ability with daily livings such as social activities, communal outings, making imprudent decisions that could result in their personal safety and ability to protect themselves against significant harm or exploitation. You will be providing care, supervision, and assistance to our residents with these everyday tasks.
Direct support staff or D.S.S. must ensure the safety and well-being of the resident at all times. Training and supervision is based on the philosophy of normalization using the least restrictive approach and strategies possible. All programs are designed to encourage client participation. This promotes independence and personal growth. Direct support staff are mentors to the clients. Their communication skills, as well as their interpersonal and professional relationships should reflect the values of respect for others, honesty, tolerance and compassion.
